The Birth of “Yellowood”
Yellowood was born out of my own health crisis, I want to share my passion of nutrition with others, like you. The name is inspired by the Robert Frost poem “The Road Not Taken”.
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

A New Beginning
I left my career as a law clerk and found that my new path which provided the flexibility to study natural nutrition, keep in contact with friends and family, exercise and travel.
I started researching complementary therapies, the role of whole foods in the diet, and exercise. I started to walk and then run, used natural remedies, revamped my diet, lost weight, removed allergens and processed foods. I sought personal counseling and began down a path that allowed me to work through the disorder in my life. Slowly I began to recover. I was no longer getting sick many times during the year and missing work. With increased energy I began to run longer, started yoga and reconnected friends and family. I continued to experiment with new foods and overall felt like a new person.
